Metropolitan Hospital was founded in 2001 and has established itself in the private healthcare sector. It covers all medical specialties and features all diagnostic laboratories, ensuring comprehensive conditions for medical and nursing monitoring.
It possesses the first Acute Stroke Unit in Greece certified by the European Stroke Organisation. Furthermore, as of March 2024, the Breast and Women's Center, under the direction of Breast Surgeon and Assoc. Professor at the University of Nicosia, Mr. Vasilios Venizelos, constitutes the first and only Breast Unit in the country with the international EUSOMA (Breast Centres Certification) accreditation, which guarantees the highest European standards in the treatment of breast diseases.
Staffed by distinguished physicians from Greece and abroad and utilizing the most modern equipment and state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, the hospital offers high-standard healthcare services with respect toward the patient, while it has also developed collaborations with model scientific institutions abroad.
On an annual basis, approximately 35,000 patients are hospitalized in its 300 beds, while 350,000 patients are treated in the outpatient clinics and the Emergency Department. The hospital collaborates with more than 1,500 physicians and employs approximately 800 nurses and paramedical staff.
