Hellenic Healthcare Group’s Management, staying true to its vision for continuous investment in the scientific work of its associates and the promotion of the impact it has on the Greek society, has proceeded to the establishment of a modern Educational Center that aims at education, training, skills development, and research in the fields of Medicine, Nursing , and all Health Sciences in general.
This is a pioneering move for the Greek standards, both because it is the first time that such an endeavor has been undertaken in Greece by a private Healthcare Provider and because such a modern Training Center had been missing from the whole of Southeastern Europe. This Center aspires to become a training tool for future doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals as well as a key pillar to promote and produce scientific work and results institutionally.
The Center, named HEAL, i.e. an acronym for Healthcare Education Advanced Learning, is located in Maroussi, Attica, and boasts all necessary infrastructure to host conferences, seminars, introduce innovative techniques, and house every educational and experimental medical practice.
The Center was founded and is based on the suggestions and efforts of HHG’s doctors, nurses, and employees to help:
- coordinate and achieve uniformity of its scientific events and actions
- set up an integrated training program for scientific staff
- coordinate comprehensive Group actions in all Greek provinces
- Group’s medical staff attend scientific conferences and events
- promote optimum partnership with educational institutions and Schools of Medicine in Greece and abroad
- create a scientific electronic library with the huge work of the Group doctors.
The above academic and educational work will be coordinated by Professor Panagiotis Skandalakis as President-Coordinator, Stratis Pattakos as Vice President, Stavros Sougioultzis, Chief Operating Officer at MITERA, Stefanos Chandakas, MITERA Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Scientific Council, Apostolos Papalois, as head of translational and experimental research, Professor Theodoros Xenakis, Chief Medical Officer at Metropolitan General, George Zacharopoulos, Chairman of HYGEIA's Scientific Council, Professor Anastasios Machairas, Chairman of Metropolitan General’s Scientific Council, Professor Christos Dervenis, Chairman of Metropolitan Hospital's Scientific Council, and Elpidoforos Douratsos, Chairman of LETO's Scientific Council.
